November 11, 2019 | 14:30 CET | Categories: General press releases, Press releases | Non regulatory

Scandic has once again been shortlisted in the European Diversity Awards category “Diversity Team of the Year” thanks to the company’s world-leading initiatives within accessibility and employee training. The awards ceremony will be held at a gala in London on November 14, 2019.

Scandic’s position as finalist follows from the new online accessibility course that the company launched in May 2019. The course offers a full digital experience including concrete instructional films, tips and advice on how Scandic can provide the best possible service for guests with accessibility needs. The course is a compulsory part of Scandic’s employee training and Scandic has made it available to all on its website to raise awareness and share knowledge about accessibility issues.

Joining the finalists in the European Diversity Awards is yet again proof that our work within accessibility and training is making a difference, says Magnus Berglund, Accessibility Director, Scandic Hotels.

In May 2019, Scandic also introduced a standard for allergy-friendly rooms. This means that guests booking allergy-friendly rooms can expect considerations including wooden floors and fragrance-free, hypoallergenic toiletries approved by the Swedish Asthma and Allergy Association. The rooms are also prepared according to strict cleaning procedures and are not located on floors where pets can stay.
