Scandic continues to strengthen its offering to the urban traveler through the opening of its first two new Scandic Go hotels in Finland just ahead of the busy summer season. The hotels, strategically positioned in Turku and Oulu, will together offer more than 280 new hotel rooms. The openings are part of Scandic’s strategy to grow in selected markets while continuously developing its offering to meet evolving guest needs.

In January 2027, Scandic will welcome another franchise hotel into the group. The hotel in Köping, operated by Norlandia Hotel Group, will offer 110 newly renovated rooms under the Scandic brand starting next year.  

Scandic and property owner Axfast have plans to build a new 135-room Scandic Go hotel on Stockholm’s Drottninggatan – under the ground. The new hotel will offer a calm, quiet experience, far from the buzz and bustle of the city. Work on this deeply rooted project will commence this year, and the hotel will be ready to welcome guests in 2027.

Today, 5 May 2026, Scandic Hotels Group AB (publ) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM). The AGM resolved in accordance with all proposals presented by the Board of Directors and the Nomination Committee.

Members of the Executive Committee and other employees of Scandic Hotels Group AB have sold shares in Scandic in connection with the allotment of shares under the recently concluded share-based incentive program LTIP 2023. The sales have been made to cover the tax that arises for the participants in connection with the allotment of shares.
