It has never been easier to travel to Italy without leaving Sweden. In May, the Scandic Grand Central hotel will open a new outdoor dining concept in its hitherto unknown courtyard inspired by romantic Italy. The restaurant will be a lush Italian piazza where Italian food and drinks will be served.
The right atmosphere will be created using decorations that include a clothesline, flag pennants, fairy lights, striped umbrellas and beautiful citrus plants. Entertainment in the form of old Italian films like Fellini’s 1950’s classic La Strada will be projected on the walls. Little Italy will offer a lively bar scene with a lovely Italian atmosphere in central Stockholm that will make people think they have been swept away to the sunny Mediterranean.
The menu will include Italian classics such as Vitello tonnato (veal roast with capers and tuna mayonnaise), asparagus risotto with parmesan, lemon and rocket salad and vanilla pannacotta with strawberries, Limoncello and mint for dessert. Simple finger foods and snacks like marinated olives, chili marinated seafood and caponata (Italian ratatouille) will also be served. In terms of beverages, the bar will offer a wide range of Italian wines, beers and cocktails.
Little Italy will be launched in early May and will be open from Monday to Saturday from 16.00 to 22.00 until September.
