Scandic leaves hotel in Lübeck

Scandic has decided to leave Lübeck in Germany on the 31 of December 2012. The reason is that the agreement with the property owner Pandox expires. The staff will be offered new employment by the property owner, who will continue with hotel operations in the building.Scandic has been running the hotel in Lübeck since 1991 but will hand over the hotel from 31 December 2012 to Pandox. At the same time, Scandic has opened new hotels in Berlin aswell as Hamburg. Scandic Hamburg Emporio opened as recently as the 1st of September 2012.

Scandic Lübecks employees will be offered new employment since the property owner Pandox is planning to proceed the hotel.
“Of course to leave a hotel is sad, but our strategy regarding Germany is to extend our offer and we are looking for new strategic alternatives for new hotels” says Michel Schutzbach, VP Europe.
