At a press conference today, Aarhus municipality announced that the tender group Bassin 7, in which Scandic is included as operator, has won a project for a new large hotel in Aarhus.
The hotel will be built in collaboration with developer Rune Kilden, investor Anders Holch Povlsen and the world renowned architect Bjarne Ingels.
– It’s amazing that we win this prestigious hotel and conference project. It will be a very attractive conference hotel, with space for over 2,000 conference participants, says Jens Mathiesen, Head of Scandic Denmark.
The attractive hotel will have a unique architecture and enjoy a view of the harbor and the city center. it will play an important part of the urban, diverse and active city life that is being created with the overall project at Aarhus Ø.
