L ast year, Scandic was also nominated and placed second in the category, “Hero of the Year” for the efforts of Accessibility Director, Magnus Berglund.

Together with my colleagues, we constantly work hard to stay one step ahead when it comes to offering the best solutions for all of our guests, regardless of ability,” says Magnus Berglund, Accessibility Director at Scandic.

About the European Diversity Awards (EDAs)

The European Diversity Awards will present 14 prizes to individuals, groups and companies whose dedication to promoting diversity has been outstanding in the last 12 months. The EDAs are unique in recognizing all aspects of diversity across Europe and celebrate the best in both corporate actions and campaigning for diversity. The awards are a key event on the diversity calendar in Europe.

Scandic’s accessibility work

Ensuring the same high level of services to all guests, regardless of ability, is an important objective for Scandic. Scandic has a checklist of 110 points called Scandic’s Accessibility Standard and has implemented smart design features to make its hotel rooms, conference facilities and restaurants accessible to people with disabilities.

In 2013, Scandic was the world’s first hotel chain to launch online interactive training in accessibility that is open to everyone on Scandic’s website. More information is available at Special needs.
